The war in Ukraine does not only affect people. Thousands of dogs and cats have lost their homes – left behind by fleeing families, injured in the fighting, or victims of neglect. Animal shelters across the country take these animals in, but they are stretched to their limits: food, medicine, and resources for daily care are in short supply.
Animals with special needs have it hardest of all. Many live with injuries, chronic illnesses, or the consequences of cruelty and indifference – and they need daily care, treatment, and quality food. They cannot ask for help in words, but they need it urgently.
Anyone who knows München Hilft Ukraine knows that we support children, orphans, elderly people, and people with disabilities in Ukraine with food, psychological support, and essential supplies. But compassion does not stop with humans. With our Animal Aid project, we also support the silent victims of this war.
Together with our loyal partner, the Bavarian pet food manufacturer Interquell, we support animal shelters in Ukraine that are home to dogs and cats with special needs. The food donations arrive exactly where support is felt immediately: the animals receive tasty, nutritious food – and with it more strength, better health, and a greater chance of a happy life.
As with all our projects, we work directly with the institutions on the ground. This ensures that every donation arrives without detours and that its use is transparently documented. With your support, we want to supply more animal shelters in Ukraine with food, medicine, and care supplies on a regular basis.
